Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old
An absolute whisky shelf staple, and one of Islay’s most famous unpeated drams
Nose: A touch of sweetness and chocolate by the sea.
Palate: A delicate sweetness on the sea air with fruits soaked in sherry.
Finish: Light smoke and salty sweetness.
Bunnahabhain distillery was founded in 1881 as Islay’s most Northerly distillery. It is one of the lightest Islay whiskies, easy on the smoke with a reputation for being smooth and inviting. There’s a clear coastal influence, however, as it is a product of the Queen of the Hebrides after all. First launched in 1979, it continues to pick up a multitude of awards.
