Glenallachie 10 years old Batch 8 at Aberdeen Whisky Shop – Scotch Whisky News

Glenallachie 10 years old Batch 8

NOSE: Bursting with mocha, nutmeg and walnut oil,
with notes of heather honey, sweet raisins and dried red berries.

PALATE: Lashings of cinnamon spice, molasses and honeycomb,
followed by ginger and dark chocolate, with hints of nutmeg and fennel on the finish.

Glenallachie’s very first bottling of The GlenAllachie 10 Years Old Cask Strength happened by chance. In 2017, whilst reviewing parcels of stock from 2007 and 2008, the Master Distiller Billy Walker was so delighted by the samples’ balance and depth that he immediately decided to add a younger expression to the core range.

Bottled at 57.2%, The GlenAllachie Cask Strength Batch 8 is a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons along with a small quantity of Virgin Oak and Rioja casks. The distillers achieved a perfect balance of tangy orange, dark chocolate and sweet spice with underlying classic GlenAllachie honeyed notes.
