Booker’s second round for this year is entering circulation, dubbed “The Lumberyard Batch.” This title directs attention to what Booker Noe was doing prior to entering the bourbon trade: working in a lumberyard.
This continues a trend this year of Booker’s batches being older than has been the case in recent years. From its origins three decades ago, Booker’s has been described as a small batch, cask strength bourbon aged for 6 to 8 years, but lately that has leaned closer to 6 than to 8. The first installment of 2022 was aged just short of 7 years, while this installment is aged 7 years, 1 month and 7 days. So, that is two in a row sitting in the middle of that 6 to 8 year range.
Lumberyard Batch also came out at 124.8 proof. The price point is still $89.99.
