Chattanooga Whiskey has released Experimental Batch 017 and Experimental Single Barrel 109 at the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery.
Experimental Batch 017: Apricot Brandy Barrel Finished was crafted to highlight the fruit-forward characteristics of an alternative grain mash bill, including wheat, spelt, and oat malts. This innovative experiment was then finished in rare Turkish apricot brandy barrels for over 3 months. The result highlights the bold synergy between an inventive high malt bourbon and a vibrant fruit brandy finish. This limited batch size was bottled at 102 proof. Expect notes of apricot jam, browned butter, toasted oak, and leather.
The Experimental Single Batch Series is a limited collection of single batch whiskeys born from the 100-gallon Experimental Distillery in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. This series seeks to express uncompromised creativity and innovation.
Experimental Batch 017: Apricot Brandy Barrel Finished is available at the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery and online at seelbachs.com. Retail price for a 750ml bottle is $69.99.
The release of Experimental Single Barrel 109 is from a collection Experimental Single Barrels hand-selected by the distilling team. Each barrel utilizes a multitude of grains, barrels, techniques, and unique ingredients to create whiskeys that are truly one-of-a-kind.
Although it’s rare to release a 25 gallon half-cask, Barrel 109 epitomizes the early experimental whiskeys at the Experimental Distillery, featuring a backbone of locally grown, stone milled white corn that allows the dark caramel malt to take center stage. A cherry smoked barley malt offers more fruit than smoke, but compliments the sweet caramel and adds complexity. Bottled at 124.4 proof, Barrel 109 is best enjoyed with a few drops of cold spring water.
Experimental Single Barrel 109 is available exclusively at the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery. Retail price for a 750ml bottle is $69.99.
